Stop ~~ Look ~~ Listen

It’s the fall where I live and the trees are bright with color, the air is crisp and feels delightfully cool.  Too bad I’ve been too busy to really notice it.

Luckily I came across a quote from Ferris Bueller.  He says, “Life moves pretty fast.  If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”  Not only did that become the reading and theme for yoga class, it inspired me to take the afternoon off and enjoy the fall beauty.

Here’s a quote from Nathaniel Hawthorne who said “I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house.”

How about you?  Have you been buzzing through life and missing out on what’s important?  It will do you some real good to take some time out.  It doesn’t even have to take much time.  Remember, even a 5 minute break really helps.

Stop – Look – Listen  Mini-Meditation

  1. Stop – Notice your posture . . . breath . . . energy level . . . mood . . . mental activity.
  2. Look – Blink your eyes several times.  Look at something far away and discover the details in what you see.  Blink again.
    Look at something close up.  Discover the details.
  3. Listen – Listen to sounds come and go.  Simply observe without judging.  No resistance.  No clinging.  Simply listen.
  4. Smile.

  • Accurately tuned to 440.
  • Flutes are shaped and tuned by hand with specialized tools.  Each flute is beautifully embellished with unique designs handcrafted with a wood-burner.
  • An innovative thumb rest is added to secure and balance the flute while playing.  It positions your lower hand correctly. Place the thumb of the lower hand against the bottom of the thumb rest. The index finger covers the hole right above.  This makes playing flute an absolute joy.

You will get a recording of the yoga practice (not the discussion) by email within 48 hours after class for streaming for your personal and non-commercial use only that is valid for 14 days. Stuff can happen since this is “live,” (like the Zoom (or similar) connection or audio connection/audio is bad, weather interruptions, etc.). Schedules are subject to change (dates, times, venues, in-outside). Julie Lusk or her associates cannot be responsible for any risks whatsoever for your class participation. You will be notified by email, if possible and ASAP, if a class you’re scheduled for is canceled or rescheduled.  By enrolling and/or attending class, You voluntarily agree to these policies. It is understood that policies and procedures periodically change and it is the participants responsibility to stay up-to-date and will abide and agree to whatever is currently in place. Private Lessons: Private lessons are provided on a one-time or as an on-going series.  If done as a series, the fee is paid in full and in advance to qualify for a discounted rate.  Lessons are scheduled at the convenience of the teacher and student.  Twenty-four hours advance notice must be given in advance to reschedule an appointment for a pre-arranged lesson in order to reschedule.  If twenty-four hours’ notice is not given, the lesson will be forfeited.
