|Neli Ramirez Ever since I remember myself I have been trying to understand the world, people, myself and why we do the things we do. Lately, I am curious about sustaining positive changes in human behavior, why people do things that are harmful to themselves, how to bring awareness to others and my own actions. I’d like to help people find a way to be healthier and more content.I studied psychology, major religions, philosophy, energy healing, exercise, mindfulness, nutrition and read many books that focused on answering the above questions. I worked as a researcher, volunteered in psychology labs and completed my Bachelor in Nursing degree at the University of Virginia. In May, 2017, I completed a national certification to be a diabetes educator.
During my Yoga Nidra training I reached a space of peaceful realization that opened a door for me.
Behind that door I can see myself (really SEE myself) and accept all good and petty things that make me human. I also SEE the people around me in just the same way. I accepted all of it: the good and the bad, the past, present, and future.
I accept that here and now we are in a layer of existence. Then we will move to a layer of non-existence or a layer of existence in a different shape and form. I also think that perhaps the layers of existence and non-existence are not separate but they are part of the whole and if I wish (when meditating) I can move through them, going back to the Big Bang and forward to the Great Mystery residing in the distant future.
When I completed the Yoga Nidra training I knew that I would go on and complete the Yoga teacher training as well and when I do I will have the tools to guide me and others to a space from which we can help create a healthier world.
I live in Charlottesville, VA. Email Neli
