Awaken and Embody the Feminine Chakras

August 27, 2012 by Julie Lusk

Chakra Jewels ♥♥♥
♥♥
♥

Are there chakras (energy centers) that are feminine in nature while others are masculine?  “Yes,” accordChakra jeweling to Christine Page, MD.  She says that gaining an understanding of the chakras’ spiritual qualities and how they influence our daily lives, makes a real difference to our personal health.  With this knowledge to awaken & embody the feminine chakras, we can begin to appreciate how we relate to the world as well our soul’s potential, allowing us to live life with optimal meaning and purpose.  In addition, she says we no longer need to be limited by the idea that there are just seven chakras, primarily associated with the body, but need to return to the ancient teaching to include two other chakras, the earth-child beneath our feet and the star-child chakras above our heads. To augment this understanding, there are sound yoga practices that enable us to embody this awareness quickly and deeply.

You can be one of the first to benefit from this new understanding and put it into practice.  Here’s how:

Wabi Sabi – The Power of Imperfection

October 25, 2011 by Julie Lusk

♥♥♥

Wabi-Sabi is my new favorite concept.  It refers to the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.

Wabi is a Japanese word that connotes rustic simplicity and the understated elegance found in both natural and man-made objects.

Sabi is the beauty or serenity that comes with age, when the life of something and its impermanence are evidenced in its patina and wear as well as in any visible repairs.

What a wonderful concept that softens the sting of aging and the illusion most of us are under that demands that we always get it right. Not only does it soften it, it elevates imperfection to an art to be treasured.

So, the next time things don’t seem to go right, simply smile and say “Wabi-Sabi”.  It’s a real time-saver too.

Please give us examples of how you are celebrating the spirit of Wabi Sabi in your life.  Add your comments below.

Honoring Mother’s Day with Story, Poems & Quotes

May 3, 2016 by Julie Lusk

The idea for Mother’s Day originated in 1870 by Julia Ward Howe, the author of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”  She IMG_1258believed that peace and equality were two of the most important world causes and challenged women to rise up against war in all its forms.   She wanted women to unite by coming together across national lines to recognize what people have in common over what comes between us in a “Mothers Day for Peace.”  Although this didn’t happen, Julia inspired Anna Jarvisto to start her own crusade to celebrate a memorial day for mother’s in 1907.  The rest is “herstory.”

Here’s to peace and equality for all.  Julia’s declaration follows:

Arise then…women of this day!
Arise, all women who have hearts!
Whether your baptism be of water or of tears!
Say firmly:
“We will not have questions answered by irrelevant agencies,
Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage,
For caresses and applause.
Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn
All that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience.
We, the women of one country,
Will be too tender of those of another country
To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs.”
