Are you ready to tune yourself up and get powerful and practical tools and techniques to overcome stress, improve your health, and gain amazing insights to guide you forward?

We will explore several wonderful types of guided imagery within the context of the seven major chakras (energy centers) and the five koshas (sheaths). You will enjoy the experience of relaxing deeply and activating your energy by the stunning ocean, surrounded by beautiful gardens and awesome people. There’s also yoga, meditation, chanting, delicious food, and so much more!

The Bahamas are very easy to travel to.  Accommodations are comfortable and affordable.  English is spoken & USA money is used.  Passport is required.

Friendship Blessing

I’m still on Cloud 9 from our recent Yoga Women’s Retreat & Slumber party.  What a joy to be surrounded by friends – soul friends!  They are the people, whether known a long time or briefly, that have shaped and supported you into being who you are today, and who you’re growing into.

The Celtic tradition calls one’s soul-friend the Anam Cara. John O’Donohue explains “With the anam cara, you could share your innermost self, your mind, and your heart.  This friendship is an act of recognition and belonging that did not set limitations of space or time on the soul.  It cuts across all convention, morality and category.   In it, you are understood as you are without mask or pretension.”

May you learn to be a good friend to yourself.
May you be able to journey to that place in your soul where
there is great love, warmth, feeling, and forgiveness.
May this change you.
May it transfigure that which is negative, distant, or cold in you.

Happy Humming Practice

Happy Humming Practice

Do you have a happiness practice? Our world is starving for happiness. We are parched for smiles. We are hungry for connections. Practice happiness daily.  Hum daily.

Hum your happiness out. Have you forgotten you are made of vibrations? Remember, energy is real. Hum when you’re happy, content, blessed. Hum for no reason. It’s contagious. Quench each other’s thirst for happiness and hum.

Hummmmmmm…

Recall a happy moment. Hum to soak it into your heart.
Hum to those who struggle.
Catch on to shimmering beauty and grace and hum to capture its essence.
Hum out to the harsh realities.
Notice smiling times and hum to savor its sweetness.
Hum out to ease suffering.
Feel heartfelt happiness within. Hum to embody it. Set it free with a hum.

Hummmmmmm…

You can do this. You are meant to do this.
You are not in the crossfire. You are not hungry.
It takes as long as breathing in happiness and sharing it with a hum.

Hummmmmmm…

Devote your happiness practice to benefit everyone, everywhere.

Dedicate your happiness practice to fill the broken people and places craving relief.

Hummmmmmm…

Hum a single note.

Hum a tune.

Hum till you feel happy.

Hum for those who can’t.

Hum for those who forget and for those forgotten.

Hum when sad, lonely, and feeling mad.

Hum your own sound ~ high/low ~ soft/strong ~ clear/crinkly ~ in tune/or not ~

Hum at home, while working, and in between.  Hum inside and outside and in between.

Hum a lullaby and to awaken.

Happy. Happy. Happy.

Hummmmmmm.  Hummmmmmm. Hummmmmmm.

What is Meditation?

Let’s define meditation. While guided imagery allows thoughts and feelings to occur while directing and focusing the Buddhamind in certain areas, meditation seeks to bring about a state of awareness without thinking.  This is not be to confused with attempting the impossible task of clearing and emptying the mind completely, rather, it is about becoming conscious and aware of our thoughts, feelings, physical distractions, and the other senses.  This awareness helps us cultivate acceptance, compassion and wisdom.  This is the wisdom of self understanding so an appropriate response is revealed.  The goal of meditation includes remembering and experiencing the connection between oneself and the divine.

While there are hundreds of meditation techniques, the basic elements include sitting in an upright manner with a straight, but not stiff, spine.  Taking time to bring the breath into balance and focus, and using a concentration technique are often incorporated.  Concentration calms and clears the mind of distraction making room for the meditative state.

Here are a few fundamental meditation methods.  A mantra, which is a word, sound or phrase can be silently repeated over and again; focusing attention on the sensation of the breath can be used; being mindful of the present moment is another practice; and gazing upon an object, such as a candle flame, nature scenes, or holy picture is another approach.
